Best youth soccer clubs in Los Angeles (2026)
Updated for the 2026 fall registration season.
There is no single "best" club, only the best club for your child. The biggest, most-decorated program in LA is the wrong choice if it is 45 minutes away, over your budget, or three levels above where your kid is playing today. Below are the largest and best-known youth soccer clubs across the LA area, followed by how to actually pick.
The big, well-known LA-area clubs
Ranked here simply by size (number of active youth teams in our directory), which is a rough proxy for reach and how many age/level options they offer. All are established competitive programs:
- Legends FC
- Beach FC
- LA Surf SC
- Total Futbol Academy (TFA)
- LA Breakers FC
- Albion SC Santa Monica
- LAFC So Cal Youth
- Culver City FC
Other solid options depending on where you live: FRAM Soccer Club (Torrance), LA Bulls SC (Pacific Palisades), LA City United FC, Sand & Surf SC (Manhattan Beach), and Legends FC Santa Clarita. Nearly every neighborhood in LA also has an AYSO region for recreational play, which is the right starting point for most young or first-time players (see our AYSO vs club soccer guide).
How to choose (the part that actually matters)
Once you have two or three names near you, judge them on the four things that decide whether a season is great or miserable:
- Level fit — Ask which flight or team your child would be placed in, and watch that team train. The right club puts your kid where they will be challenged but not buried.
- Distance — Map the weekday practice drive, not the tournament that sold you. Four evenings a week is the real test.
- True cost — Club fee + uniform kit + tournament and travel costs. Ask for the all-in number for the full year.
- Tryout timing — Most LA club tryouts run May through July for the fall season. Get on each club's tryout list now.
