Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of Terms
By creating an account or using the HomeTeam mobile application or website at findyourhometeam.com (together, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
These Terms form a legally binding agreement between you and HomeTeam ("we," "us," or "our"). We may update these Terms from time to time; continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms.
2. Description of Service
HomeTeam is a platform that helps parents and guardians discover and connect with local youth sports clubs. The Service allows parents to create profiles for their children, receive personalized club recommendations based on age, skill, goals, and budget, and initiate contact with clubs directly through the app.
HomeTeam is not a sports club, league, or governing body. We do not organize, manage, or take responsibility for the programs, activities, or conduct of any club listed on the platform.
3. Eligibility and Accounts
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. The Service is designed for use by parents and guardians on behalf of their minor children: children do not create accounts or use the Service directly.
You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
- All activity that occurs under your account.
- Providing accurate and current information when creating or updating your account.
Notify us immediately at hello@findyourhometeam.com if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.
4. Child Profiles
You may create profiles for your minor children to enable club matching. By adding a child profile, you represent and warrant that you are the parent or legal guardian of that child and have the authority to provide their information to the Service.
Child profile data (including name, age, and sports preferences) is used solely to power club matching and facilitate introductions to clubs you choose to contact. We do not share child profile information with clubs unless you initiate contact with that specific club. For details on how we handle child data, see our Privacy Policy.
5. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- Provide false, misleading, or fraudulent information.
- Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any club or organization.
- Send unsolicited commercial messages or spam through the in-app messaging feature.
- Harass, threaten, or intimidate other users or club representatives.
- Scrape, crawl, or otherwise extract data from the Service in an automated fashion.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of the Service.
- Violate any applicable local, state, national, or international law.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these restrictions.
6. Club Information
Club profiles on HomeTeam are provided by club administrators and may not always reflect current program availability, pricing, or tryout schedules. HomeTeam does not verify the accuracy of club-provided information and is not responsible for any decisions you make based on it.
When you contact a club through the Service, you are communicating directly with that club. HomeTeam is not a party to any agreement you reach with a club and is not responsible for the quality, safety, or conduct of any club's programs.
7. Intellectual Property
All content, design, code, trademarks, and other materials in the Service are owned by HomeTeam or our licensors and are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from any part of the Service without our prior written permission.
By submitting content to the Service (such as messages or feedback), you grant HomeTeam a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use that content solely to operate and improve the Service.
8. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF VIRUSES OR OTHER HARMFUL COMPONENTS.
HomeTeam makes no representations or warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of any club information or match recommendations provided through the Service.
9. Limitation of Liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HOMETEAM AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU HAVE PAID TO US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR (B) ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100).
10. Account Deletion and Termination
You may delete your account at any time from within the app (Account Settings → Delete Account). Upon deletion, your personal data and child profiles will be permanently removed from our systems, except where retention is required by law.
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if we believe you have violated these Terms or if continued access poses a risk to other users or the integrity of the Service.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we make material changes, we will notify you by email or through a prominent in-app notice at least 14 days before the changes take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
