Is HomeTeam free?
Yes. HomeTeam is free for parents: no subscription, and no club can pay to rank higher in your results. Clubs are ranked only by how well they fit your child.
How much does club soccer cost?
Recreational and AYSO soccer typically runs about $100 to $250 a season. Competitive club soccer usually lands between $1,500 and $4,000 or more per year once you include the club fee, uniform kit, tournaments and travel. Always ask a club for the all-in number for the full year before you commit.
When are club soccer tryouts?
Club tryouts cluster in May through July for teams that start in the fall, and the strongest teams fill fast. Recreational sign-ups usually run later, into late summer. Miss the window and you generally wait a year, so it is worth getting on each club's tryout list early.
Should my child play AYSO or club soccer?
Neither is better; they are different rungs on the same ladder. Under 8, recreational is almost always right. Between 8 and 10, stay recreational unless your child is visibly outgrowing it and asking for more. From 11, if they love the game and want to be challenged, try out for club and let the club place them at the right level. You can always move up next season.
How does the fit score work?
Every club is scored from 0 to 100 on four things: how well the competitive level matches your child, how far away it is, whether it fits your budget, and when its tryouts happen. You can open any club and see exactly what drove its score, so a ranking is never a black box.
What ages and sports does HomeTeam cover?
Soccer, from U6 through U19, at every level from AYSO and recreational leagues up to ECNL, Girls Academy and MLS NEXT. Coverage is nationwide, with more than 7,700 clubs already ranked and searchable. More sports are coming.
Can clubs see my child's information?
Not until you decide to reach out. A club cannot see your child's profile while you are browsing and comparing. When you do message a club, we include the details a coach needs to answer properly, and nothing else.
